Classwork: DBQ Quick Write

Samurai and Knights DBQ Quick Write

More than a thousand years ago, a class of professional warriors arose, who swore oaths of loyalty to noble lords and fought to the death to defend them in battle. Interestingly, this happened at about the same time in both Japan and Europe, even though the regions are thousands of miles apart. The Japanese called their warriors samurai; the Europeans called their warriors knights. This DBQ asks you to compare the two.

You will need to write one paragraph describing the similarities between the two and then a second paragraph describing the differences. For each paragraph, you will need to cite at least one fact from the DBQ documents.
