European Union

For my trip to Europe during Winter Break 2019-20, I decided to go to places where I could truly enjoy winter scenery and winter sports. As such, I decided to go to Austria and Switzerland (the Alps) and, Catalonia, Andorra, and France (the Pyrenees). In Austria, I stayed in Vienna to enjoy the incredible history that the city has to offer. In the older part of the city, there was St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and one could go up to the roof of the building to enjoy an excellent view of the city. There was also the Hofburg Palace, which was once the seat of power for the mighty Habsburg dynasty that once ruled Austria, Hungary, and, indeed, much of the lands of the former Holy Roman Empire. Of course, because it was December, there were plenty of winter activities, including a large ice skating rink that was set up to meander through Rathauspark in the center of the city.
