2007-08 • London
December 27, 2007 to January 3, 2008
London is, by far, my favorite city in the world. Quite simply, it has everything: history, politics, culture, and plenty of strange quirks that makes London, well, London. In 2007, as part of a school trip during my senior year in high school, I was able to venture out of North America for the first time in my life and I was immediately hooked. Since then, I have returned to London multiple times in 2009 and five times after that (as of me writing this). I just can’t get enough of London! During my first even trip to England, we were able to visit many of the biggest attractions including the Tower of London, Shakespeare’s Globe, Windsor Castle, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Stratford-Upon-Avon, and many, many more sites of historical significance. Part of what made this trip so special, however, was the fact that we were able to be in the UK during New Year’s where we went on a river cruise down the Thames as we welcomed in 2008 and that I, quite literally spent the last few days of my childhood in what would become my favorite city. We returned to Southern California late on January 3 and I turned eighteen years old the next day on January 4, 2008.
